Meadow Lake
Denis Allchurch is the former MLA for the Rosthern-Shellbrook constituency, serving from 1999 to 2011. During this time he served as the Official Opposition House Critic for Northern Affairs and Deputy Critic of Saskatchewan Forest/Forestry. Denis also sat as a member of the Standing Committees on Intergovernmental Affairs, Infrastructure, the Environment, Private Members’ Bills, and the Special Committee on Regulation.
Denis was born in Rabbit Lake. He was raised on the family farm in the Meeting Lake District. Denis currently resides in Spiritwood with his wife Sheila. Denis has a well-established profile in his community by serving as alderman for three years, being elected Mayor of Spiritwood in 1994, and serving as president on numerous boards such as the Parks and Recreation Board, Witchekan Wildlife Federation, and Spiritwood Snowball Riders Snowmobile Club. Denis was also the owner/operator of a family sports shop, D & S Sports Inc.
As a director, Denis has helped promote the Spiritwood branch of Ducks Unlimited, as well as the Spiritwood Lodge and a hospital building project. Denis was an EMO attendant and an operator of the Jaws of Life. Denis has a love for fastball as shown by many years of coaching young children and bringing home two provincial fastball titles.
Denis allowed his name to stand for the Sask United Party because of the corruption and mismanagement in the current Sask Party government. Denis believes the province needs new, true conservative leadership, and Jon Hromek offers exactly that.
